Story

Mental health is a constant presence amongst those who represent the Emergency services and Armed Forces due to the nature of their jobs. To remain current and adaptable in supporting these communities through mental health care which always requires funding.

Forces Equine has members from all corners of the United Kingdom. The Charity Cycle Ride will cover the 600km distance from Stirling, Scotland down to Weston Lawns, Coventry, where the Forces Equine Games are being held. The ride will happen the week before the Forces Equine Games (FEG), finishing on the Friday and with the official opening of the 2025 Games.

We would be most grateful if you could support our cause through your generous donations. Thank you!

"We are raising money for charities who support our incredible service personnel, veterans, emergency responders and their families."

& Co Founder of Forces Equine (Non Profit)

As a serving Army officer in the Army Medical Services for over 21 years, mental health has always been an important part of my life and military career. Supporting your colleagues and soldiers through mental health initiatives is such a vital part of being a leader, making sure your team are well in whatever given situation.

Being the Chair and co-founder of Forces Equine has allowed me to give something back to the Armed Forces and Emergency Responders community over the past 18 years. For our annual Forces Equine Games (FEG) we are continuing our support raising money for mental health charities that support our members and I am going one step further by competing this charity cycle ride to raise as much money as possible. You will be able to keep up-to-date with my progress of the ride with live updates on our social media channels and the end of the Charity cycle ride will also mark the official opening of FEG 2025.

We thank you all for supporting our cause and please do give whatever you can.

(Non Profit)
Hi everyone I am so please to meet you all, my name is Cherene Robertson. A few years back, I left my substantive post within the NHS and now occasionally work for the staff bank after an assault in my workplace resulted in a life-changing injury to my right arm.

Mental health is a constant concern for all of us who serve or have served in either the Emergency Services or Armed Forces due to the challenging nature of our work.

When we created Lunar Eclipse, our mission was to "make the equestrian world accessible to all" and to raise awareness of the healing power of horses. Horses are expert communicators who never rely on language. They can completely read you, and whatever you turn up with, they offer a moment of calm. Once in everyone’s lifetime, they should have the chance to experience the smell and breath of a horse.

It's hard to put into words, but often horses reflect what’s going on internally for you. They hold a space for you in a way that people can’t. Being around them, you cannot help but be made vulnerable by these wonderful animals.

I met the Forces Equine Group at the National Equine Show in 2023, where Daisy & Apollo, our therapy ponies, were the unannounced little stars of the event. We still laugh about David packing my horsebox for the trip home — he vowed never to do it again! We promised to keep in touch, and fast forward to 2024, we found ourselves back at the National Equine Show again with our miniature therapy horses. Our shared passion for mental health sparked a conversation about collaborating, and the rest is history...
